With kids.

We left "home" in July of 2022 to experience the world with our kids.

It's been the greatest experience we could have asked for, and in this guide we share how we did it, why you should do it too, and what to know and expect along the way.

Dreaming of traveling the world?

We thought we we were doing was pretty cool, but didn't realize how many others are dreaming of finding a way to do it too, until every time we wrote about it it seemed to go viral.

What this guide is

What this guide is

As a family of four, with two boys ages 9 and 11, we left our home country of the U.S. in July of 2022. Since then, we have been to 11 countries and had experiences of a lifetime.

We've applied and received two digital nomad visas - in Croatia and in Spain - and we were near the end of the process of getting a visa in Portugal before we opted for Spain at the last minute.

We've established a base each year so that the boys could have the stability of being in a school for one year at a time. Aside from that, we travel all summer, every school break, and many weekends. Ever since we started doing this, we've received a lot of questions from other individuals, couples, and families about how we manage it.

Our goal with this guide is to shed some light on why we decided to do it, how we've done it, how we decided where to go, what we do for schooling, and all the amazing but also challenging experiences that have come out of it. This guide is meant to inspire and show you that it can be done. We give our best to show you what to expect if you decide to embark on a journey like this on your own.

Live now.

You were born on this earth.
You deserve to explore it.
And you have less reasons not to than you think.

What this guide is not

What this guide is not

While the course includes a fair amount of detail about how we went about getting our digital nomad visas, some of the hurdles we had to jump, and some things to look out for, this is not a detailed how-to guide on step-by-step details about how to get a digital nomad visa.
Every country has slightly different rules and requirements, and every family's situations are different, so there's no way we can cover that with completeness.
